ºÚÁÏÍø Clubs

ºÚÁÏÍø Cybersecurity Student Club

The ºÚÁÏÍø Cybersecurity Club (ºÚÁÏÍøCC) has over 7,000 members. Theory is empty without practice. In ºÚÁÏÍøCC, everyone can gain the hands-on experience to reinforce their education. ºÚÁÏÍøCC strives for the practical application of social, ethical, and technical concepts. Club meetings will include presentations on the tools, techniques, and procedures used by current Cybersecurity experts. As part of ºÚÁÏÍøCC, students will have the opportunity to connect with individuals from all walks of life. Students can connect with other students, alumni, educators, security professionals, military personnel, and government officials as they explore the diversity of cybersecurity.

The club utilizes the NICE Cyber Challenges to learn defensive (Blue) security. There are multiple events such as TryHackMe nights, HackTheBox Saturdays, Accountability group and CTF events. The club maintains a competitive CCDC team and helps students organize for the NCL competition.ÌýFurther, the club has a Khoros, Teams, Discord and an exclusive club member LinkedIn group, to exchange information, discuss multiple topics and share information about jobs and internships.

ºÚÁÏÍø Women in Technology Club

The Women in Technology Club (WinTech) is an academic alliance that offers support to a diverse group of professionals to connect and become well-rounded as they navigate the field of technology for the future.

ºÚÁÏ꿉۪s Women in Technology student club aims to enrich the students’ tech experience through organizing activities, including programming projects, career workshops, and technical sessions by academia and industry professionals. We strive to address the gender gap issue in tech majors, and to create a healthier and more efficient ecosystem for STEM disciplines.

The National Student Data Corps ºÚÁÏÍø Data Club Chapter was founded on May 15, 2024, to create a community of support and a network of data science enthusiasts interested in learning about data science and applying it in their educational and career endeavors. We’ve created an inclusive and welcoming environment for data science learners and educators to achieve our Chapter objectives.

ºÚÁÏÍø Alumni Club

The Alumni Cybersecurity club is for ºÚÁÏÍø graduates from the BSCSIA, MSCSIA, and BSNOS programs. The club provides alumni with the ability to network, learn about new trends in cybersecurity, practice and learn hands-on skills in offensive and defensive security, and enhance their careers.

ºÚÁÏÍø Chapter of the Sword and Shield National Honor Society

ºÚÁÏÍø has started a chapter of the Order of the Sword and Shield National Honor Society. Note, Sword and Shield only accepts applications in February, May, August, and November of each year.

ºÚÁÏÍø Center for Cyber Education works with CYBER.ORG to build a future where the nation’s cybersecurity needs are met by a knowledgeable, skilled, and passionate workforce. The mission is to ensure that every K-12 student gains foundational and technical cybersecurity knowledge and skills by empowering teachers with quality curriculum, resources, and training needed to deliver cyber content to students.

WiCys Student Chapter at ºÚÁÏÍø

The Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) Student Chapter at Western Governors University (ºÚÁÏÍø) is dedicated to fostering a community where women and allies can excel in cybersecurity. By offering mentorship, networking, and educational opportunities, the chapter aims to recruit, retain, and advance women in this dynamic field.

WiCys Student Club

WiCyS at ºÚÁÏÍø empowers women and allies in cybersecurity through education, mentorship, and community support. Through events, workshops, and industry partnerships, WiCyS at ºÚÁÏÍø empowers members with the skills and connections they need to succeed in cybersecurity, bridging the gender gap while promoting diversity and inclusion.

The mission of the WiCyS Student Chapter at ºÚÁÏÍø is to promote the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women in cybersecurity by providing mentorship, training, networking opportunities, and access to industry leaders while fostering a diverse and inclusive community of future cybersecurity professionals.
